Ripertoli 2011 season off to a great start !

8 bedrooms with 8 en-suite bathrooms at last ! Deborah & I feel that we have finally achieved our aim with the construction programme we put through in the winter of 2010 - 11, and our clients so far this year certainly seem to agree - we have had some lovely thank-you letters, some of which are now comments on this blog. The whole place looked an absolute picture when we left on July 23, and we can't wait to go back in October, and again in November for the olive harvest. Nigel Tully.

  1. Nigel,

We had a great week in Italy, your house is really something special (an amazing view). It was really well stocked and all the guide books and hand written instructions are really helpful.
It was well set up for the baby and my wife, also a keen musician, loved playing the piano. The weather turned out to be great and I even got in a couple of swims, a little cold but not too bad.
Marisa cooked us a fabulous meal on the Thursday (the best we had on the holiday), if we had of known she was that good, we would have got her more often, as it really suited us to stay in the house with the baby. Its also a really good base for an Italian holiday and we had some really lovely drives around the area and also trips to Florence, Siena and Pisa. We have been really raving about the place since we got back, so you may hear from us (with others) in the future.

    Regards,
    Kevin Glennon

    Nigel,
We returned after 12 years and celebrated our 50th anniversary. We gave ourselves the best gift ever, a week in Ripertoli with our entire family; all our children, daughter's-in-law and grandchildren (total 17). Marisa met us and made us feel like family.
The grands enjoyed staying in the capanna's, away from the adults, at night. We all enjoyed Sienna, Firenze, Montefioralle, Rignanna, San Gimingnano, Greve and Panzano. Marisa's dinner for us was as good or better as any we had outside the villa. The grands want to know when can we return.
Ripertoli, it's decor, it's accommodations, it's views are the essence of Tuscany. We filled our treasury with a lifetime of happy memories. Whenever we look at our pictures, we will enjoy our experience again and again.
We will send you a photo of all 17 standing in front of the Ripertoli sign at the entrance to the villa.

    Thank you and regards,
    Vince Tranchitella

  3. How lucky we were to hear about Ripertoli through our American friends in Connecticut.

Without wasting a moment I got on to the website and loved what I saw. I checked the availability and called the other three septuagenarian couples in Ottawa, Westport, CT and Provence to confirm that we could all manage the 2 week period I had selected.

Fortunately it was so far ahead that we were all able to agree the dates and I immediately negotiated a deal with Nigel 15 months before we were due to arrive. Thanks to him the whole booking process was smooth, simple and efficient, which I greatly appreciated.

The well constructed and extremely informative website tells the whole charming story about Ripertoli as well as the various gastronomic and non-gastronomic opportunities nearby. The situation of the villa is stunning. The views are breath-taking and forever changing. The pool , the gardens, the terraces and the lighting have all been so well conceived for the visitors' enjoyment.

In short, Ripertoli is not a "holiday let". It is a lovely and very well appointed family home with warmth and comfort in every room. Little extras abound in corners everywhere, which add to the visitors' enjoyment of this beautiful location it the Tuscan hills.

But the star turn was Marisa! She was charming, looked after us perfectly, seemed to understand our almost non-existant Italian and was delightfully - if not somewhat disconcertingly - generous with her embraces!

One of the real bonuses at Ripertoli was to have the option of asking Marisa to cook dinner from a typically Tuscan and very varied menu. We asked her to cook for us on six evenings and we thoroughly enjoyed the meals she prepared for us, although she clearly had no respect for our waistlines!

Bravo Marisa. Thank you for looking after us so well.

And thank you Nigel and Deborah for allowing us to share your delightful home.
